Watch the video below to see local new channel WPSD's feature on West Kentucky Rockin' Rollers Junior Derby Team. The junior league was formed in April 2012 and now has around 20 team members. They were also featured as the half-time show at WKRR's home bout against Clarksville's Red River Sirens on July 21st and their intra-league bout on November 17th. Our junior team has learned a lot in such a short period of time and we are proud of how much they have progressed since April.
Junior Roller Derby practice is held Saturday morning, starting at 9-11am, at Kingsway Skateland on
Wayne Sullivan Drive in Paducah.
We welcome all kids ages 17 and under to play roller derby on our junior team. It's a great way to make new friends while learning strategy, teamwork and sportsmanship in an encouraging environment. Boys and girls 17 and under who are interested in referee and volunteer positions are also welcome to skate with us. Anyone interested in our junior derby team can contact us with questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
At different times during the year, the junior roller derby team holds various fundraisers such as selling Butter Braids, hosting car washes, and yard sales. It's a wonderful teambuilding activity outside the track and the money earned from the fundraisers support our league by allowing us to purchase new safety gear, uniforms, and practice time for our skaters. We appreciate all of the community and familly support that keeps us "rolling" and doing what we love. Thank you!
